EHTW04 - Beyond the telescope conjecture The telescope conjecture is an attempt to describe elementary pieces of the stable homotopy category, the T(n)-local categories, in terms of something more computable, the K(n)-localization. I will discuss how what we now know affects our picture of telescopic localization, and describe some possible future directions towards understanding structural and computational aspects of the stable homotopy category.
